I hope that you are rewarded for your kind efforts to help humanity have working PCs. So Ive run hijackthis, and the other scanners you suggest and attached them. When manually updating using the iexplorer (u know with the active x control) it completely crashes after a few minutes. So Ive tried to update, thats when I found out that its still running on sp2. It caught a few trojans and other malware programs. So I downloaded a new antivirus program (avast_free) and installed it in a selective startup, and also malwarebytes. It kind of looks like a bad version of the screen in independence day or something.

Even in selective startup if more than 2 or 3 programs (or instances of programs) are running the computer crashes, or I see a black screen with some alien looking characters on it and its blinking. Then it got worse, booting a normal startup configuration would never work, I would often see the Blue Screen of Death, but it would be in only computer language.

So I did a selective startup (mostly guessing and google searching as a reference), uninstalled a lot of free programs that I deferred had malware with them, I had a lot of toolbars and free games. I ran it in safemode, tried to system restore it, it worked for a couple hours, then started crashing again. My second hand laptop is a bit old, but it was working fine until a couple months ago, when it sometimes wouldnt finish booting windows, it would just freeze.
